On the job

Kate peered from the rooftop. The tracking device she placed on the car had led her to the Gotham docks. Not surprising. Just about everything illegal flows through there at one point or another.

She still had no idea who they were or what they were up to and she was unlikely to find out from up here. She stretched out her cape and used it to glide down to the warehouse and land on the roof. Quickly finding a skylight, she slipped through and found herself in the rafters above everyone with a clear view of everyone.

Strangely, the building itself was completely empty other than the thugs she had followed who were now standing about aimlessly. Clearly they were waiting for something, most likely the person in charge. Kate set her cowl to record and kept her eyes glued to the men below her.

“I still don’t like this”. One of the thugs spoke up.

“You mentioned that”. Another replied with a hint of annoyance. Kate found herself agreeing with him. That henchman had been whining for the whole trip. She had been tempted to just swoop down and attack them about five times while tailing them just to save herself the headache.

Luckily her work was about to pay off as she heard a second car pull up to the rear entrance. Their employer had finally arrived. Kate moved through the rafters to get a better look.

Settling for a spot above the door, Kate was shocked to see that their employer was none other than her old flame and current terrorist, Safiyah Sohail. What she was doing here though, who could say?
